Art & Memory
Founded in Rome in 1995, Arte & Memoria (Art & Memory) was a furniture restoration company specializing in objects of historical importance.
Operated by Stefano Sovrano in conjunction with his colleague Marco De Lellis, the company drew on the deep knowledge of traditional materials and processes the two had gained over many years of study and experience. Their approach to restoration included working with appropriate and well-seasoned woods; using materials and recipes employed in the past; and constantly controlling temperature and humidity ranges in the workshop area to avoid structural damage while restoring.
These same interventions, employed with scrupulous hand skills, continue to be used by Marco at the Piano Workshop in the restoration of antique object today.
